Panthers Rejected Trade For Brian Burns
Published: Oct 23, 2022 at 01:24 PM
The Carolina Panthers have reportedly rejected a trade offer for defensive end Brian Burns. The deal was reportedly two first-round picks in exchange for the 24-year-old pass rusher. This seems odd that the Panthers would decline a trade like this, so maybe they said it in order to build up his value. Star running back Christian McCaffrey was expected to be traded for multiple first-rounds picks, but Carolina didn't receive a single first in the deal. The Panthers are unlikely to give Burns a long term extension, which means he should be traded at some point. Burns will likely become one of the highest paid edge rushers in the league soon. The expectation is that Burns will still be traded despite the Panthers continuing to deny it.
