Joe Thuney Unlikely To Play If Chiefs Advance
Published: Jan 28, 2024 at 06:09 PM
Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro offensive guard Joe Thuney (pectoral) received varying opinions for his pectoral injury, according to sources. Some experts think it's torn, while others believe it's just a strain. Surgery is on the table right now. If the Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens in Sunday's AFC Championship game and advance to another Super Bowl, Thuney won't be ruled out, but he'll be considered a long shot to play. The 31-year-old was injured in last Sunday's Divisional Round win over the Buffalo Bills and was quickly ruled out this week for the AFC Championship. Nick Allegretti will take over as the team's starter at left guard against a strong Ravens defensive line. It will be something to watch as the game unfolds.
