Joe Thuney A "Long Shot" To Practice This Week

Published: Feb 07, 2024 at 12:18 AM
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said on Tuesday that offensive guard Joe Thuney (pectoral) is a "long shot" to practice this week in the lead-up to Super Bowl LVIII this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. Thuney suffered a pectoral injury in the Divisional Round win over the Buffalo Bills and did not play in the AFC Championship against the Baltimore Ravens. The star guard said on Monday that he was unsure if he'd play against the 49ers in the Super Bowl this weekend. Reid said that for Thuney to play on Sunday against the 49ers, the team would have to ensure that the offensive lineman wouldn't exacerbate the injury. Not having Thuney available against San Francisco would be a big blow for KC's blocking unit against a Niners penetrating defensive front.
