Chris Jones Not At Mandatory Minicamp

Published: Jun 14, 2023 at 12:12 AM
Kansas City Chiefs four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Chris Jones wasn't at the team's mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. The Chiefs remain open to signing Jones to a long-term contract extension this summer, but he'll remain away from the team for now. The 28-year-old pass-rusher is looking to be paid accordingly after putting up career-highs in tackles (44) and sacks (15.5) while adding 17 tackles for loss, 29 QB hits, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 17 regular season starts in 2022 in his seventh year in the NFL, all with the Chiefs. There's a chance that Jones will hold out this summer in training camp, but he should be on the field for the team in Week 1. Jones is a top-20 target in IDP fantasy formats as a defensive lineman.
