Vikings Take Jordan Addison At No. 23 Overall

Published: Apr 28, 2023 at 03:04 AM
The Minnesota Vikings selected University of Southern California wide receiver Jordan Addison with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft on Thursday night. The wide receiver run continues late in the first round. Many folks thought the Vikings would address their needs on defense with this pick, but they decided to go offense instead to help All-Pro Justin Jefferson with Adam Thielen no longer around. It's also good news for quarterback Kirk Cousins heading into 2023. Addison, 21, showed blazing speed in college and will help the Vikings offense stretch the field even more. He measures in at 5-foot-11, 173 pounds. Addison suffered a back injury at the scouting combine, but he should be just fine for Week 1 of his rookie season. The young wideout is versatile but doesn't have any traits that stand out. Addison should contribute right away for the Vikings, but don't overvalue him in single-year fantasy leagues.
