Sam LaPorta Puts On A Show At Rookie Minicamp
Published: May 15, 2023 at 03:23 PM
Detroit Lions rookie tight end Sam LaPorta was the best player on the field on Saturday at the team's rookie minicamp, and he got plenty of looks from quarterback Adrian Martinez. LaPorta was targeted early and often and caught everything that came his way. His versatility stood out. Detroit used him as an in-line tight end but also flexed him out to receiver over the weekend, something he did often at Iowa. LaPorta can hurt teams in a variety of ways, so expect the Lions to continue moving him around. The 22-year-old also showed impressive elusiveness and acceleration on the field. The No. 33 overall pick in this year's draft should be a great fit in this offense, but fantasy managers might want to be patient in terms of his 2023 production.
