Sam LaPorta Has High-End TE2 Outlook Against Seahawks

Published: Sep 14, 2023 at 05:52 PM
Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta caught all five of his targets in his NFL debut against the Kansas City Chiefs last week. That's not a bad way to start a season and career, so he's comfortably on the fantasy radar moving forward. In Week 2, he'll face a Seattle Seahawks squad that gave up 334 passing yards to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1. That said, he has low-end TE1 upside but should produce at least TE2 numbers. It's important to remember rookies can struggle early on, so he's far from bust-proof, though. Detroit's offense played much better at home than on the road last year, meaning its pass-catchers could be in for a big day in the home opener.
