Malik Willis' Roster Spot Not Guaranteed

Published: Jul 10, 2023 at 02:59 PM
TennesseeTitans.com's Jim Wyatt writes that Tennessee Titans quarterback Malik Willis' roster spot isn't guaranteed heading into training camp, even with the new NFL rule allowing for a third QB to dress on game days. Ryan Tannehill and rookie Will Levis will be on the 53-man roster because Tannehill is the starter, and Levis was the 33rd overall pick and in this year's draft. Willis must keep improving to earn his spot. The good news is that the 24-year-old outperformed Levis during offseason workouts and has definitely shown improvement from a year ago. However, things can quickly change in training camp and the preseason. But even if Willis makes the final 53-man roster, he probably isn't going to see any playing time in his second NFL season.
