Kyle Trask Takes A Step Back

Published: Aug 12, 2023 at 03:15 AM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Kyle Trask came in to relieve Baker Mayfield during Friday's preseason opener versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 25-year-old threw an interception on his first drive. It didn't get much better from there as he took three sacks over the next three series. He completed 6-of-10 passing attempts for 99 yards and zero touchdowns during the loss. After one game, it appears Mayfield has the edge in the battle for the starting QB gig. However, it's worth noting that Trask was named the starter for their second preseason contest. Hopefully, things will go better for the former second-round pick during that game.
