Javonte Williams Sees 16 Touches In Week 2

Published: Sep 19, 2022 at 02:13 AM
Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams out-carried backfield mate Melvin Gordon III 15 to 10 in the Week 2 win over the Houston Texans. However, he also went from 11 receptions in Week 1 to just one (four targets) for a 10-yard gain on Sunday. Williams picked up a team-high 75 yards on his 15 carries for a healthy 5.0 yards per carry in the 16-9 victory. Gordon remains a thorn in Williams' side for fantasy purposes, and it hasn't helped that Denver's offense hasn't looked great at all under quarterback Russell Wilson through the first two games of the season. The 22-year-old should continue to operate as the 1A to Gordon's 1B heading into a tough matchup in Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers. Williams still has a solid weekly floor for touches.
