Javonte Williams Likely Suffered A Serious Knee Injury

Published: Oct 03, 2022 at 01:02 AM
Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams (knee) exited early in the second half of the team's Week 5 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders and did not return. He is feared to have suffered a serious knee injury and was spotted leaving the locker room on crutches. An MRI tomorrow will determine the full extent of the injury, but the Broncos do not have high hopes for good news. This is a potentially brutal blow for both the second-year back and Denver's offense. Melvin Gordon III figures to be the next man up, but the veteran has struggled with fumbles to begin the season and Mike Boone has seen some action in each of the past two weeks. Boone will become a waiver wire commodity heading into a Week 5 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.
