Javonte Williams Could Handle Limited Workload Early On

Published: Aug 24, 2023 at 06:40 PM
Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams (knee) has made a quick recovery from his torn ACL in Week 4 of last season. The 23-year-old was cleared for contact at the start of training camp and has already seen preseason action. However, Broncos offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi indicated his workload could be limited a bit at the start of the season before settles into a more expanded role, according to Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette. The organization likely wants to be cautious with its young back, meaning Samaje Perine could see a meaningful workload to begin the first few weeks of the 2023 campaign. Based on this information, Williams will be a risky Week 1 fantasy option against the Las Vegas Raiders.
