James Conner Limited With Calf Ailment
Published: Sep 13, 2023 at 11:33 PM
Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner (calf) finds himself on the initial injury report for Week 2 and was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday. The fact that he's on the practice field at all early in the week is a sign that Conner should be good to go for a Week 2 matchup against the New York Giants in the desert. The 28-year-old is the clear workhorse back for a rebuilding Arizona team, as he handled 52 of the team's 62 offensive snaps in the Week 1 loss to the Washington Commanders. He turned his 19 touches into 70 yards in the season opener. In one of the worst offenses in the NFL, Conner will have a low fantasy ceiling and floor. If he's active in Week 2, he should be considered on the RB2/3 borderline against a Giants defense that just allowed 40 points to the Dallas Cowboys.
