Eric Gray Shows Off Receiving Skills In Preseason Loss

Published: Aug 27, 2023 at 01:40 PM
New York Giants rookie running back Eric Gray tallied seven carries for 11 yards but also garnered a lot of work in the passing game, finishing with four catches for 48 yards in Saturday's preseason finale. The fifth-round pick showed shiftiness in the open field after taking a swing pass from quarterback Tommy Devito late in the second quarter. Starter Saquon Barkley and presumptive backup Matt Breida did not play. Jashaun Corbin was the first running back to receive a carry in the game. Gray is the favorite to be the leading kickoff returner and could open the season as the third back on the depth chart.
