Chargers Take Quentin Johnston At No. 21

Published: Apr 28, 2023 at 02:46 AM
The Los Angeles Chargers selected Texas Christian University wide receiver Quentin Johnston with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft on Thursday night. After the first receiver came off the board to the Seattle Seahawks at No. 20, the Chargers make it two in a row to give quarterback Justin Herbert another weapon in LA. Wideout had become a big need for the Bolts with both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams dealing with injuries last year. The 21-year-old Johnston was a big reason the Horned Frogs made a surprising run to the National Championship in 2022 with 60 catches for 1,069 yards and six touchdowns. He stands at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds and also has good speed. Johnston will only increase Herbert's fantasy value, but he may have a tough time producing consistently in his rookie season if both Allen and Williams manage to stay healthy.
