Brian Robinson Ditches His Crutches

Published: Sep 07, 2022 at 06:18 PM
Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said that the swelling in rookie running back Brian Robinson's knee has gone down "an awful lot" and he's off crutches. Robinson was placed on the Non-Football Injury list after he was shot multiple times in an attempted robbery in D.C. last week. The 23-year-old will be forced to miss the first four games of the regular season, but he appears to be making good progress in the meantime. He's still a good stash candidate in fantasy leagues, though, as he was set to open the year as the primary early down back over Antonio Gibson before getting shot. Gibson should now see most of the early down work for Washington, with pass-catching back J.D. McKissic operating mostly on third downs and obvious passing situations.
