Ty Johnson Dealing With Torn Pectoral Muscle

Published: May 22, 2023 at 03:13 PM
Former New York Jets running back Ty Johnson (pectoral) revealed on his personal Instagram account that he was released last month with a non-football injury designation due to a torn pectoral muscle that he suffered while working out on his own. Johnson underwent surgery on the advice of a Jets doctor and was released shortly thereafter. The 25-year-old may have to wait a while before a team feels comfortable signing him after a pretty serious injury. The 25-year-old running back had a career-low 30 carries for 160 yards and a touchdown and also caught 12 passes for 88 yards in 17 games (one start) for the Jets last year. The former sixth-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 2019 should eventually latch on elsewhere once he's back to full health.
