Trey Sermon On The Roster Bubble

Published: Aug 24, 2022 at 10:21 PM
San Francisco 49ers second-year running back Trey Sermon appears to be on the roster bubble with training camp nearing an end. Elijah Mitchell, Jeff Wilson Jr. and rookie Tyrion Davis-Price should be assured roster spots. It will come down to Sermon, JaMycal Hasty and Jordan Mason for one spot. Hasty gives the team something a bit different with his ability to run routes and catch passes out of the backfield. Sermon probably would have been cut already if not for his status as a third-round pick just last year. The 23-year-old just hasn't shown much burst in the preseason and should be ignored in single-year fantasy leagues. For now, Sermon is only useful for depth in dynasty/keeper leagues.
