Samaje Perine's Thumb Injury Not Serious

Published: Jun 15, 2023 at 06:51 PM
Denver Broncos running back Samaje Perine (thumb) is dealing with a bruised thumb after getting injured in minicamp practice on Wednesday. He's doing fine and will be full-go for training camp when it kicks off at the end of July. Perine was signed in Denver this offseason to provide much-needed depth behind Javonte Williams (knee), who is recovering from a torn MCL and LCL last year. Reports on Williams' recovery have been positive so far this offseason, but it doesn't guarantee that he'll be ready to go in Week 1 of the regular season. And even if Williams is ready to roll, Perine expects to have a significant workload in Denver's backfield early on. The 27-year-old Perine is must-handcuff for fantasy managers that take the leap on Williams this year.
