Sam Howell Still Considered No. 1 Option

Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell remains the No. 1 option on the depth chart heading into next season. Despite the hiring of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, the stance on the fifth-round pick hasn't changed, although the team still plans on bringing in a veteran backup while looking to bolster the offensive line. Howell appeared in only one game during his inaugural campaign, throwing for 169 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Week 18 NFC East battle with the Cowboys. He also had five carries for 35 yards and another touchdown. Nevertheless, Howell is a work in progress, but he'll have plenty of weapons in his arsenal to be successful in 2023-24.
