Matthew Stafford Unlikely To Play In Preseason Opener

Published: Aug 11, 2023 at 09:05 PM
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is not expected to suit up for Saturday's preseason matchup versus the Los Angeles Chargers. The 35-year-old dealt with a handful of injuries last season, which limited him to nine games. The good news is, Stafford is throwing without any neck issues. However, the Rams don't want to push it, so Stafford will sit out the preseason opener. The expectation is that Brett Rypien and Stetson Bennett will split the reps without Stafford available. Fantasy managers shouldn't be concerned about Stafford's health right now.
