Matthew Stafford Has Favorable Matchup In Week 3

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has a favorable matchup in Week 3 against an Arizona Cardinals defense that has been getting gashed up by opposing quarterbacks. PFF ranks Arizona as having the worst pass coverage and the worst overall defense through two weeks. Patrick Mahomes and Derek Carr both finished as top 12 fantasy QBs against the Cardinals in Weeks 1 and 2, respectively. Stafford should not be expected to repeat Mahomes' 360 yard, five TD showing, but Carr's 252 yards and 2 TDs look like reasonable baselines. Stafford has a stronger arm and has thrown passes for a deeper average depth of target than Carr each of the past two seasons. Stafford projects as a low-end QB1 in what Fantasy Pros has classed as a four-out-of-five star matchup this week.
