Matthew Stafford Still Intends To Return In 2023
Published: Jan 10, 2023 at 12:16 AM
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford said he still has every intention of playing in 2023, even in the event that head coach Sean McVay leaves the team. After winning the Super Bowl in his first year with LA, Stafford and the Rams were a huge disappointment in 2022 and he missed eight games with a concussion and neck injury. The 34-year-old said he feels "really good" about his health at the moment and is expecting to have a normal offseason. When healthy, Stafford averaged only 231.9 passing yards per game, the third-fewest mark of his career, and he tossed 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions in nine starts. The offensive line must improve and the Rams must get better with their WR depth behind Cooper Kupp if Stafford and the Rams offense is going to bounce back in 2023.
