Joshua Palmer Unlikely To See 75-Plus Targets

Published: Sep 02, 2022 at 07:33 PM
The Athletic's Daniel Popper doesn't see Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer getting to 75-plus targets this year unless there's an injury ahead of him. Palmer is ready from a developmental standpoint, though, after arriving last year with polished route-running and strong, reliable hands, especially on contested catches. He's looked even better this summer, particularly on his releases. The 23-year-old has been rising up draft boards this summer in what should once again be an explosive Chargers offense, but with Mike Williams, Keenan Allen, Austin Ekeler and Gerald Everett all demanding targets, it's hard to envision Palmer being very consistent on a weekly basis for fantasy managers in his second NFL season. However, he is certainly worth a look as a late-round flier with upside.
