Jordan Mason To Backup McCaffrey Again

Published: Oct 07, 2023 at 05:22 AM
San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason will reprise his role as a distant second-fiddle to starter Christian McCaffrey when the 49ers host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. Last week, with usual backup Elijah Mitchell (knee) sidelined, Mason carried the ball three times for 10 yards and caught his only target for 13 yards. There is no reason to believe that with McCaffrey consistently hogging touches through four weeks, Mason will suddenly get enough volume to be worth starting, even with Mitchell out. Mason should not be in fantasy lineups this week and would only be worth rostering if Mitchell was looking at an extended absence.
