Jordan Mason Limited In First Practice
Published: Sep 07, 2023 at 03:23 PM
San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason (foot) was listed as a limited practice participant in the team's first official practice of the 2023 regular season on Wednesday. Mason suffered a sprained foot in the preseason finale at the end of August, but he's making progress and could be ready to play in Week 1 this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Even if the 24-year-old is healthy enough to play, he could be a healthy scratch with Christian McCaffrey, Elijah Mitchell and Tyrion Davis-Price ahead of him on the running back depth chart. The second-year back spent most of his rookie season in 2022 on special teams, finishing with just 43 carries for 258 yards and one touchdown in 16 regular season games.
