Jalen Tolbert Not Ready For No. 2 Role?

Published: Sep 02, 2022 at 04:48 PM
Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver Jalen Tolbert had some strong training camp practices this summer, but he didn't show in preseason games that he's ready to be the immediate replacement for Michael Gallup (knee) to begin the season. The Athletic's Jon Machota's best guess is that the Cowboys will use a committee approach until Gallup is healthy enough to return, but that could change with a trade. Tolbert, Noah Brown, Simi Fehoko, Dennis Houston and KaVontae Turpin are all going to get their chances behind CeeDee Lamb. Machota's prediction is that Tolbert, Brown and Fehoko will see a similar number of targets early in the year. Tolbert might have been a trendy late-round flier in deeper leagues because of his impressive summer, but fantasy managers in 12-team formats should probably look elsewhere.
