Jake Haener Plays Second Half In Preseason Victory

Published: Aug 21, 2023 at 02:30 PM
New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Jake Haener had a modest outing on Sunday night, playing the second half of the win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Haener went 11-for-17 through the air for 118 yards with no touchdowns or turnovers. The 24-year-old fourth round pick has a lot of upside to be a quality backup in this league, but as of right now is slotted in as the third option on the New Orleans depth chart behind Derek Carr and Jameis Winston. He may not get an opportunity to start games this season, but should be an adequate option in the future.
