Giants Sign Tanner Hudson
Published: Aug 25, 2022 at 04:05 PM
The New York Giants signed former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers tight end Tanner Hudson to an undisclosed deal on Thursday. The Giants placed veteran Ricky Seals-Jones on season-ending Injured Reserve on Wednesday and also cut Jordan Akins, so they were in need of some reinforcements at an extremely thin position. Hudson was cut by the 49ers on Tuesday. The 27-year-old played in two games for San Francisco in 2021 and wasn't targeted at all. In two years with the Buccaneers to begin his career, he had five catches on 12 targets for 67 yards. Rookie Daniel Bellinger has a clear path to starting duties for the Giants in 2022, while Chris Myarick, rookie Austin Allen and Hudson will back him up.
