DeShon Elliott Signs With Dolphins Wednesday

Former Detroit Lions defensive back DeShon Elliott signed an undisclosed deal with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, according to a source. Elliott has started 35 games at safety for the Baltimore Ravens and Lions in the last four seasons. He'll add quality depth with Brandon Jones (knee) recovering from a torn ACL and Eric Rowe hitting free agency. In his lone season with the Lions in 2022, the 25-year-old amassed a career-high 96 tackles (73 solo), five tackles for loss, one interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 14 games (13 starts). Whether he's relevant in IDP leagues again in 2023 will depend on the health of Jones at the starting strong safety position in Miami.
