Christian McCaffrey Gains 136 Scrimmage Yards, Catches TD

Published: Jan 15, 2023 at 02:21 AM
San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey gained 119 yards on 15 carries in the Niners' 41-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card Round. The 26-year-old also caught two passes for 17 yards and a touchdown. The Seahawks had one of the worst rushing defenses of any team in the playoffs, and CMC was able to average 7.9 yards per carry, a figure that was higher than all but one game this season. The Niners were in catchup mode going into the second half, so they threw the ball almost as much as they ran it. McCaffrey only had 45.5% of the carries to himself, as Elijah Mitchell took nine carries, Brock Purdy dove in for a touchdown, and Jordan Mason and Deebo Samuel both had multiple carries. The regular season RB2 is so talented he can still dominate with limited volume.
