Chris Olave Should Have The Edge As No. 2 WR

Published: Sep 02, 2022 at 07:47 PM
The Athletic's Larry Holder writes that it seems like New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave, the team's first-round pick this year, has the edge as the No. 2 receiver behind Michael Thomas and ahead of veteran slot man Jarvis Landry. However, both Olave and Landry are expected to share the field often in three-wide sets with Thomas. Olave has a better overall game, given his ability to beat coverage for deep pass plays while still being able to move inside when asked. The Saints didn't trade up into Round 1 of the draft for Olave to be the third wideout in his rookie season. Thomas' return to full health after missing all of last year due to an ankle injury will limit Olave's fantasy ceiling in Year 1, but he's definitely worth selecting in the later rounds of fantasy drafts as a WR4/5 with upside.
