Budda Baker To Be At Training Camp

Published: Jul 01, 2023 at 02:59 PM
Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker is planning to attend training camp at the end of July despite requesting a trade this offseason, according to his agent, David Mulugheta. However, Baker still wants a new deal that shows he's a "long-term part of the team." Baker attended mandatory minicamp in June but didn't practice. Head coach Jonathan Gannon said the situation is an "organization thing." The 27-year-old five-time Pro Bowler signed a four-year, $59 million deal in 2020 and is under contract through the 2024 season. He's the seventh-highest-paid safety in the league. The former second-rounder in 2017 has 650 career tackles with 7.5 sacks and seven interceptions in 93 games in six seasons with the Cardinals. Baker is an elite IDP option at defensive back.
