Broncos Sign Russell Wilson To A Five-Year Extension

Published: Sep 01, 2022 at 01:05 PM
The Denver Broncos have signed quarterback Russell Wilson to a five-year extension, tying him to the team until 2029. The deal is reportedly worth $245 million with $165 million guaranteed. This marks the latest of several massive extensions provided to elite NFL quarterbacks. Denver acquired the 33-year-old earlier this offseason in a blockbuster trade with Seattle. The former Super Bowl champion is believed to be the final piece for a team that has struggled to find a starting quarterback since Peyton Manning retired. Despite battling through a finger injury last season, the Wisconsin product still threw for 3,113 yards and 25 touchdowns in only 14 games played. Wilson is a perennial top-12 quarterback for fantasy football and will be a top-10 option again in 2022.
