Baker Mayfield Scores Twice, Falls Just Short Of Victory

Carolina Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 16 of his 27 passing attempts for 235 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in his regular-season debut against the Cleveland Browns. He also added a rushing touchdown and six rushing yards. Mayfield and the Panthers struggled early but fought their way back in the second half. He connected with Robbie Anderson on a 75-yard touchdown then led the offense to a field goal that gave them a 24-23 lead in the fourth quarter, only for Carolina to lose on a 58-yard field goal by Cleveland with seconds left on the clock. Mayfield continues to project as a low-end QB2 for fantasy that only deserves a roster spot in superflex/two-QB leagues.
