Allen Lazard Catches Lone Packers Touchdown In Week 18
Published: Jan 09, 2023 at 03:00 PM
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard caught 4-of-6 targets for 41 yards and one touchdown during the team's 20-16 loss to the Detroit Lions. The 27-year-old never reached his full potential in 2022, having high expectations touted as the new No. 1 target for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. After missing the season opener, Lazard caught a touchdown in five of the next seven games but only finished as a WR1 twice during that time. Once rookie Christian Watson started to emerge, the fifth-year receiver saw his target share take a big hit, and his touchdown upside completely evaporated. He proved to be one of the most trusted targets of Rodgers over the last month of the season, but it was not enough to save his fantasy season from ultimately being a disappointment. Heading into 2023, Rodgers' status with the team is in limbo, and Christian Watson is the clear top target of the future. With other receivers potentially entering the fold, Lazard will be a late-round fantasy option with limited upside come August.
