49ers Listening To Calls For Trey Lance

The San Francisco 49ers have received inquiries from several teams looking into a potential trade for former No. 3 pick quarterback Trey Lance, according to sources. The conversations have been the result of the Niners fielding the calls, not making them, with teams aware that Brock Purdy is likely the future starter. Purdy had offseason surgery to fix a torn UCL that he suffered in the NFC Championship game, but he could be ready for the start of the 2023 season, depending on how his rehab goes. The 49ers also signed Sam Darnold as QB insurance, so if the team trades Lance and Purdy isn't ready, Darnold could hold down the fort until Purdy is healthy.
