Zach Ertz Placed On PUP List To Start Training Camp

Published: Jul 26, 2023 at 06:13 PM
Arizona Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz (knee) will begin training camp on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. The 32-year-old was having a fairly productive season in 2022, catching 47 passes for 406 yards and four touchdowns before suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 10. The Cardinals drafted Trey McBride in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, so there's a chance it's time for him to take over the lead TE role in 2023 -- especially since Ertz could miss several games at the start of the campaign. All that said, Ertz has an uncertain fantasy outlook in his 11th NFL season. His best case would likely be a release or trade later in the offseason so he can join a squad with quarterback certainty that has a need at tight end.
