Stefon Diggs Has Work Cut Out In Rigid Week 1 Tilt
Published: Sep 09, 2023 at 06:22 AM
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs looks to put behind an offseason of drama in Week 1 against the New York Jets. The 29-year-old's minicamp "holdout" did not last long and he enters 2023 on the heels of three straight 100-catch seasons since arriving in Orchard Park in 2020. Diggs posted mixed results in two games opposing New York's secondary last year, logging 5/93 and 3/37 receiving lines. Gang Green's defense shut down opposing WRs for the fewest fantasy points per game (24.1) in 2022. Even though Diggs plays primarily on the right side of the field, he should draw plenty of coverage from '22 Defensive Rookie of the Year Sauce Gardner, who mostly plays on the left side. The nature of Buffalo's aggressive offense should keep Diggs heavily involved early and often enough to warrant mid-tier WR1 status despite the imposing matchup in their season opener.
