Steelers Place Pat Freiermuth On Injured Reserve

Published: Oct 21, 2023 at 03:58 PM
The Pittsburgh Steelers placed tight end Pat Freiermuth (hamstring) on Injured Reserve on Saturday, which means he will now miss at least the next four games. In a corresponding move, the Steelers officially activated wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hamstring) from IR. Freiermuth was already expected to miss the Week 7 game against the Los Angeles Rams after aggravating his hamstring injury in practice on Thursday. Rookie Darnell Washington and Connor Heyward should both have bigger roles in the passing game with Freiermuth now out for an extended period, but neither player should be considered an intriguing streaming option at the position, even in deep two-TE leagues.
