Saquon Barkley Reportedly Seeking $16 million Per Season

Published: Jul 13, 2023 at 12:35 AM
According to Mike Florio of NBC Sports, the Giants and running back Saquon Barkley are still far apart on a new contract. Per Florio, Barkley is asking for $16 million annually. On the other hand, New York's top offer was $13 million per season. That said, both sides have until 4 p.m. Eastern on Monday to come to terms on a deal. But if that doesn't happen, Barkley would be playing on the franchise tag of $10.1 million. Of course, there's a realistic chance the former Nittany Lion won't report to training camp, so his Week 1 availability (and beyond) remains in question.
