Saquon Barkley Could Consider Skipping 2023 Season

Published: Jun 12, 2023 at 03:02 PM
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, who has until July 17 to work out a long-term contract extension with the Giants after he had the franchise tag placed on him, said skipping the entire 2023 season is an option he could consider. ESPN's Adam Schefter also reported that Barkley confirmed that he will not be at the team's mandatory minicamp this week and has not signed his $10.1 million franchise tag. Barkley bounced back in 2022 with a healthy campaign that led to 1,312 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on a career-high 295 carries to earn his second Pro Bowl. The 26-year-old's potential holdout and past injury issues are concerning, but fantasy managers should still consider him a high-end RB1 in upcoming fantasy drafts.
