Saquon Barkley Considering Regular-Season Holdout?

Published: Jul 20, 2023 at 03:21 AM
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley sounds prepared to play on the one-year franchise tag in 2023, but he's also seriously considering a regular-season holdout. "Anybody [who] knows me knows that's not something I want to do," Barkley said. "But is that something that's crossed my mind? I never thought I would ever do that, but now I'm at a point where it's like 'Jesus, like, I might have to take it to this level.' Am I willing and prepared to take it to the level? I don't know." Although Barkley is likely to hold out of at least some of training camp, there's a good chance he'll be on the field for Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, according to the New York Daily News' Pat Leonard. Unless we get wind of a change of heart from the 26-year-old about missing regular-season games, he should continue to be treated as a top-five fantasy RB.
