Robert Tonyan Fails To Capitalize On Plus Matchup
Published: Nov 18, 2022 at 05:00 AM
Green Bay Packers tight end Robert Tonyan caught two of his four targets and gained 19 yards during the team's 27-17 loss to the Tennessee Titans. It will go down as the fifth week in a row that the 28-year-old has failed to top 35 receiving yards in a game. Tennessee was a solid matchup for Tonyan heading into the week, but the return of wide receiver Randall Cobb (ankle) led to him being an afterthought in the Packers' passing attack. With the Packers receiving corps nearly back to full strength, the target share is being distributed at too high a rate to trust Tonyan unless extremely desperate. With a stiff matchup against Philadelphia in Week 12, the sixth-year tight end should be left off the streaming radar.
