Raiders, Josh Jacobs Can't Reach Deal Before Monday's Deadline

Published: Jul 17, 2023 at 10:12 PM
The Las Vegas Raiders and running back Josh Jacobs did not reach an agreement on a contract extension before Monday's deadline, according to sources. Jacobs, the NFL's rushing leader in 2022, hasn't signed the $10.091 million franchise tender, so he's not required to report to training camp, and his status is now up in the air. It's probably unlikely that the 25-year-old's holdout will stretch into the regular season, but this isn't good news for Jacobs' fantasy value as a midrange RB1 with some injury concerns. While it's unlikely that he'll reproduce such a great season in 2023, Jacobs remains a lock to be a workhorse in the Raiders backfield ahead of the likes of Ameer Abdullah, Brandon Bolden and Zamir White.
