Fowler added that neither side is panicking, especially since training camp doesn't open until July 17, the deadline for tagged players to sign new deals. Barkley is due to make $10.1 million on the franchise tag, although he's searching for financial security via a long-term agreement. But until something happens, Barkley's fantasy stock will take a hit, considering he hinted at potentially skipping the 2023-24 campaign if things aren't worked out.
