Michael Mayer Not Practicing Wednesday

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer (undisclosed) is not practicing on Wednesday, marking his second straight practice missed. The Raiders had two days off between the last time they hit the field, but there's no further information on Mayer's status yet. Hopefully, he's dealing with something minor and will get back on the field soon. The 22-year-old had a spectacular career at Notre Dame, catching 138 passes for 1,649 yards and 16 touchdowns over his final two collegiate seasons -- despite the team's offense struggling mightily during that span. With Darren Waller off of the team, Mayer will challenge Austin Hooper for the primary pass-catching tight end job in 2023. He could develop into a top target for Jimmy Garoppolo.
