Lamar Jackson Not Expected To Report For Voluntary Workouts

Published: Apr 17, 2023 at 03:00 PM
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is not expected to report for the team's voluntary offseason workouts on Monday after the Ravens put the non-exclusive franchise tag on him. It shouldn't really come as a huge surprise with the two sides in a contract standoff. The Ravens and Jackson still have until the middle of July to work out a long-term contract extension, but if they don't, the former MVP could choose to skip mandatory workouts and minicamps. It wouldn't be until that point where the possibility of a holdout into the regular season would be real. Last week's signing of receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was a sign that Jackson will return to the team in 2023, but nothing is guaranteed right now.
