Kareem Hunt's Speed Slipping?

Published: Apr 10, 2023 at 03:13 PM
The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Terry Pluto heard from the Cleveland Browns that free-agent running back Kareem Hunt was "slipping" in terms of his speed. He averaged a career-low 3.8 yards per carry in 2022, and Pro Football Focus ranked him 53rd out of 62 qualifying running backs. The free-agent market for Hunt this offseason has been ice cold, and there hasn't been a single rumor of him visiting with any teams. Cleveland wants to bring back Jerome Ford in Hunt's previous role alongside Nick Chubb. Hunt is 27 years old, and one theory in the NFL is RBs in their late-20s are in decline. It's apparently how the league is viewing Hunt, and he won't re-sign with the Browns. At this point, Hunt should be happy to sign a deal for one year in the $4 million range.
