Jets To Consider Trading For Lamar Jackson?

Published: Feb 16, 2023 at 07:04 PM
NBC Sports' Peter King said on the Rich Eisen Show that there's a chance that the New York Jets consider trading for Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson this offseason. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers may be New York's No. 1 target if he decides to keep playing and wants to be traded, but the Jets could also consider Jackson if Rodgers retires or wants to stay in Green Bay. If the Ravens place the franchise tag on Jackson, the Jets could still attempt to sign him while giving up two first-round picks. Jackson and the Ravens are apparently $100 million apart on a long-term contract extension, so there's no guarantee he'll remain with the team in 2023 on the franchise tag or long-term deal after missing plenty of time the last two years late in the season due to injuries.
